Like last week, not too much new or crazy news is going on here. We had some sunny 40 degree days and that was wonderful. Hopefully spring is on its way in. Jack had his 1st cold. I was sick last week and he got a milder version of what I had. I think now that he has been sick, I won't be such a freak about worrying about him getting sick. Jack has been very active, he loves to scream now. He likes to just sit in his swing, kick his legs, stare at us and scream scream scream, with a big smile on his face. He is putting everything in his mouth, picking rattles and stuffed animals up and immediately shoving them in his mouth. He is noticing the dogs more and more. He smiles at them and reaches out to grab them. The dogs love licking his hands because I am sure they taste like something gross dogs like to lick. The doctor said we could start trying out different fruits and veggies on Jack. So far he has had sweet potatoes and carrots, both of which he was very fond of.
Jay is doing so great at being a stay at home dad. It has been wonderful for me to watch him shine as a dad. He is so caring, nurturing, loving, and fun with Jack. I am so lucky that he is so involved with Jack. He can "soothe" Jack to sleep better than I can these days. Jay changes just as many diapers as I do, even the nasty ones. He loves to read to him and play with all his toys. Jay gets him dressed everyday and his outfits that he picks are always very cute. One day I came home from work and Jack had 2 pairs of sweats on and I asked Jay why, he simply answered "his legs looked cold". Reasonable enough. I smiled at that. I have caught Jay singing cute baby songs to Jack, normally they are about kittens or babies making biscuits. It is quite sweet to hear singing in the nursery when he doesn't know I am home. On another day I got home from work and I heard chanting in the Jack's room. I went in and found Jay in the glider clapping and chanting "CRAWL JACK CRAWL!" and Jack was on his belly on the floor with the biggest smile on his face, kicking his legs around and doing the worm, trying to crawl. Jack loves Jay more than anything. When I am holding Jack and Jay is the room, Jack just stares at him with a half smile on his face waiting for Jay to look at him. The second Jay looks at him, smiles, or says something to him, Jack just cracks up laughing or squeals. He thinks his dad is so darn funny. When I am rocking Jack and he chuckles in his sleep, I swear he is dreaming about Jay. Again, I am so grateful that Jack has such a loving, involved dad, he is very lucky. We love Jay a lot!
Love, Emily
